Where
sin abounds, grace abounds much more... I don't know if I could
rightly say that I was chief of the sinners or not but what caused
me to be incarcerated was certainly not one of my bigger sins!
(Facilitating the transportation of 47 Illegally Imported Baby Crocodiles) In fact, during the wait to be incarcerated, 3
long years of pretrial, court, appeals, sentencing, more waiting,
sin was abounding and abundantly in my life! Alcoholic, drug user,
liar, cheater, adulterer, law breaker in general but "with
a form of Godliness"... Oh, did I mention that I was a "good"
guy who helped people whenever possible, I attended that mandatory
Easter mass at Catholic church... (Sometimes) But quite simply,
I never put much thought into my eternal existence.
I most likely avoided anything that would cause me to decide for
or against God... In fact, just prior to my incarceration, when
in my most sinful stage of life, I would make the sign of the
cross in front of every Catholic church... I "religiously"
said God bless you for every sneeze...
That day, when the weight came down on my shoulders, when after
only 2 weeks of incarceration, my unsaved wife told me that we
were through, that she was leaving, that she'd found out about
my adulterous affair, the second time she'd caught me, when the
weight hit me that my two children were already in Brazil, where
my wife is from, when it all came crushing down upon me, when
the world and Satan had effectively chewed me up and was about
to spit me out, the bible that I had received only days previously
from Pastor Larry spoke to my thigh! I said that old parallel
Living/KJV bible that my soon to be brother Petey had gotten Pastor
Larry to give me, spoke to my leg!
You know, nights later I would formally give my heart and soul
over to Jesus' Lordship but in thinking back, that was when God
reached down from heaven and saved me from the snare of the devil!
And God was not satisfied with me only, he wanted me to stand
up, draw a line in the sand , and take back my family for Him
who died on our behalf! He wanted me to break the curse that had
ruled in our lives! My father and his father had died of cirrhosis
of the liver and I was on the fast track following them! At about
a quart of Russian vodka a night, my liver was already experiencing
some damage! In what must have seemed crazy to my mad, divorce
seeking wife, I stated quite matter of factly that "what
God had joined together, let NO man (or WOMAN) put asunder!"
On and on I searched the scriptures, SHE HAD TO BE SAVED! And
what's more, my mother HAD to see the light as well! You know,
I could go on forever, but suffice to say, with the continued
diligence of Pastor Larry and others willing to give up their
time and efforts through the teaching of the Word of God, before
leaving Jesup FPC at the end of 6 months there, I saw my wife
saved, and my mother! Praise God, He is so faithful! My family
life is better than it ever was, I finally know what it is to
love, I love my wife like I never ever did before! About 12 members
of my wife's family has come to Christ through her, and my sweet
8 yr. old daughter on Resurrection Sunday last year received the
Lord Jesus as her Lord and Savior! You see, looking back, if I
had to do all over again, I would JOYOUSLY do it as what Satan
meant for bad , God meant for good! Those 6 months in Jesup, thinking
back, are undoubtably the most precious days I can ever remember
having lived! My love affair with Jesus began then, He sheltered
me in His hand where I felt no pain of being away from my family
and He opened my eyes to the most precious gift ever given to
man! God knew it would take incarceration and loosing everything
to make me come to Him, praise Him that He loved me so much even
when I was such a miserable sinner! By His grace and for His glory,
my life has changed so much! He completely delivered me from my
sinful weaknesses that so easily ensnared me. Not long back, the
Lord told me that I would have a place in His ministry, FULL TIME,
patiently I await His instructions anxious to spread His good
news.
Where sin abounds, grace abounds much more..

Father God, I
come before you as a sinner, I confess that I was born into sin
and have sinned against you from birth until now, I realize that
there is nothing I can physically do to make myself righteous
in Your eyes, anything that I may do is nothing but works and
cannot restore me into right relationship with you, therefore
I hereby repent from my past sins and by accepting the sacrifice
that Your Son, Jesus Christ made on the cross, and acknowledging
that You raised Him from the dead on the third day, and seated
Him at Your right hand, I ask that His cleansing blood be used
to cleanse me from all of my unrighteousness and restore to me
the relationship that You created me to have with You. Father,
I ask You to receive me as a child of God, grafted in and adopted
into Your heavenly family, born again by my belief in and
acceptance of Your Son's atoning sacrifice and my confession of
same. I pray now that You would fill me with Your Holy Spirit,
and create in me a new heart with which I might serve You as You
created me to do. I ask as well that You become my Lord and Master
and freely give the controls of my life over to You and trust
You to fill me with Your Holy Ghost who will lead me and guide
me all the days of my life from this day forward.
I thank You, I love You, and I ask these things in the precious
name of Your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen.

We must confess before men also of what He's done so that Jesus will confess before Father God that we are His and He'll write our names in the Lamb's Book of Life which means that we are saved and our reservations when we leave this earth are booked, we are Heaven bound!
